Cisco ISR 2900 - EOL Notice
Its Time For A Change!
IT administrators have relied on the Cisco 2900 series Integrated Service Router for many years. However, this solution has reached EOL as of 31st December 2022, and is now vulnerable to cyber attacks exposing your IT infrastructure. Whilst Cisco encourages users to migrate to the Cisco 4000 series ISR as its replacement, it is as an expensive alternative, especially since the Avocent ACS serial console server is much more powerful, has far more capabilities and is also more cost effective in comparison.
Introducing the Avocent ACS serial console server, a reliable and proven solution used globally by leading companies for secure out-of-band access. With dual AC power supply, dual 1GB LAN, environmental monitoring, failover to cellular LTE, and up to 48 ports in a 1U rack mountable chassis, the Avocent ACS serial console server is well placed to replace the legacy Cisco 2900 ISR range and deployed into new or existing data centres as as remote/edge locations.
In addition the Avocent ACS serial console server support automatic Cisco pinout and zero touch provisioning for easy deployment whilst being vendor agnostic allowing you to access and manage any device that has a serial console management port. See below a list of features and capabilities available on the ACS8000 series serial console server.
